Life Members -- 80-20's Lifeblood

Life Members are 80-20's lifeblood. They represent 12 % of 80-20's
membership, but they account for about 50% of its annual income.

Life Members also provide stability in 80-20's elections, since most
have been on 80-20 email list for a long time and strongly share 80-20's
values.

Life Members, as a group, is occasionally relied upon by 80-20 as a
"sounding board" on complex issues after being presented with a back-
ground briefing by 80-20's President &/or Executive Director.

Life Members' names are on permanent display at 80-20's website.
Click on http://www.80-20initiative.net/about/lifemembers.asp .

Regrettably, fewer than usual number of new Life Members joined last
year, perhaps owing to tough economic times. This occurred in spite of
the fact that our total membership last year was the 2nd highest in history.

80-20 needs more Life Members. While we cannot adequately express our
deep appreciation for your support, we will send a beautiful RECOGNITION
plaque to all new Life Members. See below.

This RECOGNITION will be personalized and signed by 80-20 officers. To its
left is the signed commitment by then presidential candidate Obama
promising Asian Americans equal opportunity in workplaces and more
Asian Am. federal judges at every rank, upon his election as our President.
You may recall how hard YOU and 80-20 worked in order to get that commitment
from candidate Obama. That document has historic significance, to say
the least. It is appended at the end of this e-newsletter.

Below the certificate is a picture of Lincoln Memorial, under which is
a famous quote from Lincoln:

"LET US HAVE FAITH THAT RIGHT MAKES MIGHT, AND IN THAT FAITH, LET US,
TO THE END, DARE TO DO OUR DUTY AS WE UNDERSTAND IT."

For those who join as Honorary Life or Honorary Family Life Members, see other
