The root cause is our POLITICAL APATHY. To combat this disease, 80-20
puts its own life on the line -- double its membership to prove its
effectiveness in tackling this root cause or die. For a long time, it seemed
a certain death for 80-20.
However, 80-20 doesn't give up easily. S B Woo emailed all Basic
members (1 vote) asking for a big favor. He asked them to each pay an
additional $15 and convince his/her spouse or a friend to become
the 2nd person in a Family membership (2 votes).
The Response was Fantastic
(A) Set a Record in "Members Joining per Week"!
Last week we got 115 more members, breaking the highest ever record of 107.
Look at the graph below. The red line shot way up closing its gap with the green line.

5) Henry Lao, El Monte, CA donated $500 instead of $15. When I wrote to
thank him for his extra-ordinary generosity, he replied, "What I'm giving is
nothing compare to you, along with your dedication. . . . "
6) Of the 100 plus who responded to 80-20's $15 request, 8 generously
each paid $135 to become Family members for 3 years as an expression
of their confidence that 80-20 will live.
What love and affection for 80-20 from a broad cross section of the
Asian Am. community! Note that the above came from one Korean Am,
one South Asian and 3 Chinese Americans.
