                                 Impossible Feat

Thanks to all of you, together we got the "impossible feat" done  - getting Pres. Trump to stop using the term "Chinese virus"  in 4 days.

How many of us thought the feat was possible when 80-20 first announced that it might start a "Demand Apology or Reject Trump, DARTproject?  But WE DID IT.  It was your generous donations plus supportive comments together with 80-20 SuperPAC's political know-how that DID IT.

       Some Offered Differing Views

A very small % of our supporters were NOT happy.   Their views fall into 2 categories:

1) Mission has NOT been accomplished, since Pres. Trump did NOT apologize.

80-20's view:  True he has NOT apologized.  However, 80-20 has NOT launched its DART project yet.  We were just using the "testing the waters for DART" as "a shot across the bow" for candidate Trump.   We wanted the candidate to know that if he didn't stop using the term "Chinese virus", then we would actively work against his election, starting as early as March.  He stopped! So our mission was accomplished.  Good politics is subtle.

2) A few individuals asked, "Why don't you start the DART project anyway, although candidate Trump has stopped using the term?

One reason they gave was that Sec. of State Pompeo has insisted on using "Wuhan  virus" at the UN.

80-20's view: 80-20's mission is to help AsAms achieve equal justice and equal opportunity.  80-20 must be wise in its political decisions. Candidate Trump's continued usage of "Chinese virus" would continually incite and increase street violence against  AsAms, particularly Chinese Ams.  Hence, 80-20 SuperPAC must step in to ask Trump to stop using the term or face our backlash.

The quarrel between the US and China at the UN is for China to handle. As a general word of advice to our community: Don't take China's side in such conflicts between nations. THINK!!! What is the implication of taking China's side, if the US and China came to armed conflict? We heard that some AsAm politicians have taken the China side in this quarrel. We are not sure if they've thought it through. They could get ASAMS in trouble in the future.

Some unthinking individuals even argued that they would rather prefer Trump's continued usage of "Chinese virus" than 80-20's decision NOT to start DART.  THINK!  Will there be more street violence against the 20 million AsAms, if Pres. Trump keeps on using "Chinese Virus"?   Do we care?  We ourselves could become victims of violence!  Are these individuals'  passion in partisan politics out of line?  These are teachable moments.

Thanking You From the Bottom of Our Hearts
