80-20 was aware of the immense implications of a NEW SCJ early!
Since 10/2004, 80-20 has plugged for an AsAm SCJ. Hence, once there
was a vacancy, many media and elected officials contacted 80-20
regarding qualified AsAm candidates for SCJ. 80-20 did a lot of raising
of internal and external awareness of the benefits of an AsAm SCJ.
Since there was only one vacancy, the odds for an AsAm SCJ were not
great. However, 80-20 will keep a keen lookout & seize every
opportunity to win EQUAL JUSTICE for the 13 million AsAms. Please

2) Our Earlier Announcement to AsAm IEEE Members Led to Success!
James M. Tien, an 80-20 Life Member, wanted to run for IEEE President
again, since he was narrowly defeated the last time. So he wanted
IEEE members to petition for him. 80-20 announced his petition site.
He got 3000 petitioners owing to various efforts. As a result, he will
be on the ballot for 2006 IEEE President-Elect. Hopefully, he'll make
history and help break the glass ceiling. Find out more at

3) New Announcement On "US-China Cultural Engagement Act"
80-20 is pleased to honor a request by Board Member Jerry Xiangzhong
Yang to announce a site where you may sign an open letter to support
the "US-China Cultural Exchange Act." The Act was introduced by
Senators Lieberman (D-CT) and Alexander (R-TN), and is now
Senate Bill 1117. "The bill aims to provide $1.3 billion to greatly
enhance Chinese-language education in K-12 schools; expand the
exchange of artists, scientists, and students, particularly young
students, between the two countries; and promote scholarly studies on
