Progress On Many Fronts
1) Dump Trump
Remember our e-newsletter: "WeChat and TikTok are only visible collateral damage"? It points out that IMPLICITLY we are at risk to lose our equal opportunity in career advancement and college admissions more and more so long as Trump fans xenophobic sentiment. So we must "Dump Trump". A group in San Diego, CA wrote to join our campaign and get pointers but wanted to focus on local effort only. That is the best kind of joint struggle. We welcome all.
2) Beat Covid-19 with a Worldwide Effort
Two weeks ago, 80-20 launched a noble & yet practical alternative to displace Trump's clueless "American First" effort to fight Covid-19. 80-20 called
"for the Presidents of the U.S. and China to jointly call for the renewal
of global free and open exchange of scientific information, focusing
on distributing an effective & inexpensive vaccine against Covid-19
at the earliest possible date that is FREE to the world."
Shortly after this e-newsletter was posted, Prof. Chenming Hu, a retired Chaired Professor of UC Berkeley, donated $2,500 to 80-20 with the following words about our noble alternative to fight Covid-19: "SB, Thanks. You have a unique shot to change history. Heavens save us. Chenming"
With trepidation, I wrote 4 political VIPs, whom I know well, hoping to interest them but expecting rejection. One reply was exceptionally positive and strong. 80-20's suggestion is being advanced to the Biden campaign foreign policy leadership team. Its chance of adoption may still be remote, but good ideas are good ideas. The world can use it.
Wait till Jan. 20, 2021, when Trump will be gone, IF Covid-19 is still raging & IF an effective vaccine is not in sight anywhere in the world, then statesmen of the world may be rushing in to embrace 80-20's idea.
3) Breaking News:
"Justice Department accuses Yale of illegal bias against White, Asian American applicants in admissions". Click here. As you know, "Students For Fair Admissions", referenced in the article, is the organization leading this fight. 80-20 EF has donated $10,000 per yr. for the last 4 yrs to it.
4) A $5,000 check to Support Sarah Gideon for US Senate in Maine.
