80-20 SuperPAC is considering buying a full-page ad in the Washington Post to respectfully request Pres. Trump to stop using the term "Chinese virus" and apologize to our community. If he ignores our request, then we intend to start raising funds to defeat him in the 2020 election, regardless of who his Democratic opponent may be.
The following is a DRAFT. We want to use today's e-newsletter to test the water for our battle plan. Dear President Trump:
In a time of crisis, we need to be united to defeat the COVID-19 pandemic. You, instead, used "Chinese virus" repeatedly, creating a xenophobic storm against our nation's 20 million Asian Americans, particularly Chinese Americans. There are those who believe that you are setting up a straw man to blame in order to avoid your responsibility of mishandling the crisis in the initial stage of the pandemic. We choose not to share this view. Instead we appeal to your human decency to stop using "Chinese virus", apologize to the Asian American community publicly and let the nation know that while the virus started in China, it is NOT a "Chinese virus."
We'll await your response. Without hearing from you in the next 3 days, we'll employ the only measure left to us in a democracy. We'll start a "Demand Apology or Reject Trump "fundraising program, DART, to defeat you in the 2020 election. However, if you deliver a satisfactory apology by May 31, 2020, we'll stop the DART effort. Indeed, we'll pledge here and now that we'll return the raised funds to donors, and will not hold this particular affront against you in the 2020 election.

Should we decide to place this ad, 80-20 SuperPAC will use this space and our huge email list to recruit 1,000 to 10,000 persons who will pledge to donate in one of the following graduated donation amounts. It starts at $5 per week increasing in 5 steps to $100 per week. Your donation will continue until Pres. Trump has delivered a satisfactory apology by May 31, 2020, or the day of 2020 general election. We estimate that our war chest will grow to a range of $140,000 to $2,000,000. If Pres.Trump responds in time, your donation will be returned to you.
The raised amount will reflect upon our community's caring for our dignity and the welfare of ourselves and our children. All donors' names and their respective donated amounts will be posted on our website. Historians will view the names & evaluate us.
Don't be a weakling. Stand up for ourselves. Do your share!
