All Asian Americans may want to read a NY Times article entitled "Muslim Voters Detect a Snub From Obama" of 2 days ago. Why? To remind ourselves of where our community would be without 80-20 fighting for the community.

Here are a few facts from the NY Times article. How sad it is to be politically weak!

o "2 Muslim women wearing head scarves were barred by campaign aides from appearing behind Obama."
o Congressman Keith Ellison, a Muslim, volunteered to speak for Obama at a rally. He was told "no" by an Obama aide.
o Muslims nationwide responded to Obama's "CHANGE" campaign enthusiastically. A year later, many say, Obama has not returned their embrace.
o "The community feels betrayed" - Muslim Public Affair Council
o At a Virginia Muslim event, Clinton and Obama provided surrogates but McCain did not.
o Muslim groups endorsed Bush in 2000, only to find themselves ignored by the Bush administration which advocated detention and deportation of Muslim immigrants and along wth other security measures after Sept. 11.

For the complete article, visit http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/24/us/politics/24muslim.html?_r=1&oref=slogin

How sad it is to be politically weak!

We deeply empathize with American Muslims. We are just grateful that thankfully 80-20 has a huge email list and has organized effective bloc votes to protect ourselves politically.

We are of course unhappy with Sen. Obama's snubbing of Am. Muslims. However, Sen. McCain has treated them even worse.

Politics is pragmatic, even cruel. Unless a minority is effective in applying leverage, it gets stepped on or gets lost in the shuffle. Only 11 years ago, the Democratic and Republican parties competed to distance themselves from our community, after the so called "Asian Campaign Finance Scandal!"

Please go read the NY Times article. Join 80-20, if you still have not. Click on http://www.80-20initiative.net to join. Otherwise THE SAD FATE OF THE POLITICALLY WEAK MAY BEFALL ON US, AGAIN.

Do your share to help our community become strong politically.

Most sincerely yours,

A Special Message To Asian Am. Republicans‏

Please forward this newsletter to your AsAm GOP friends.

Dear Asian American Republicans:

Our community really needs your help to win equal opportunity in 1) college admission for our children and 2) workplaces for ourselves.

For years you've been told by Asian Am. Republican leaders, whose livelihood depends on their careers with the Republican Party, that "S. B. Woo is a Democrat" and that "80-20 is a Democratic front." Wrong!

Since 2001, S. B. Woo has declared that for the rest of his life he'd not run for any office nor accept any federal appointment, & he would switch to register as an Independent.

Do you think the AsAm Republican leaders should make the same personal sacrifice to clear their self-interest before they accuse others?

Is 80-20 a Democratic front? NO! Here are 3 facts showing how 80-20 has tried to entice AsAm GOP leaders to unite and serve our community.

1) Giving GOP Presidential candidates MORE TIME to answer its questionnaire. It was so for George Bush in 2000 and 2004. It is so for Sen. McCain this year.

2) Giving Republicans more than its fair share of delegates to 80-20's Endorsement Convention. See the % of registered Republicans nationwide & in the AsAm community:

Nation-wide:
Republicans 32.5%
Democrats 42.6%
Inds/Declines 25%

Asian Ams:
Republicans 24%
Democrats 33%
Inds/Declines 43%

However, 80-20's bylaws allocates 1/3 R, 1/3 D and 1/3 I for the delegates to its Endorsement Convention.

3) Using gentler language with Sen. McCain than with Democratic presidential candidates*. See examples of earlier emails to D's appended at the end of this newsletter.

AsAm Republicans: 80-20 has done all it could to raise the conscience & consciousness of AsAm GOP Leaders. Now it's up to you to take a stand.

AsAm GOP leaders often imply that Asian Ams lack the skills to be managers in workplaces, and that's why they don't push Sen. McCain to reply to 80-20's questionnaire with all yeses. Let's say that they are right. However, how could these same leaders be so silent when our children, who are indeed good enough to get into the good schools, face higher college admission bars?

Could it be that AsAm GOP leaders have worked too hard for partisan interest and too little for our community? In contrast, most AsAm Democratic leaders helped 80-20 induce Senators Obama and Clinton to reply with all yeses.

Will you exercise independent judgment? Will you send a fax to Sen. McCain urging him to answer 80-20's questionnaire with all yeses please? Fax to (703) 413-0740.

Let the AsAm Republican leaders know that they are out of touch with their own people. Be a leader to fight for our community!

Respectfully,
Kathleen To

Comparing Senators McCain and Obama

Obama/McCain have both received 80-20's questionnaire, SEEKING EQUAL OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU & YOUR CHILDREN since a year ago. Senator Obama has replied with all yeses since 4 months ago. Click Here To See Obama's Signed Reply.

Sen. McCain still HAS NOT, in spite of a huge coordinated outreach effort to him by 80-20.

If you are a Republican and think Sen. McCain is deserving of our community's consider, FAX AND URGE HIM TO REPLY WITH ALL YESES. Fax him via (703) 413-0740.

Please copy me in, because I am gathering all faxes from Asian Am. Republicans to him to show his campaign that it is much to Sen. McCain's advantage to reply with all yeses. Otherwise, not only Asian Am. Independents but also Republicans will not vote for him.

Best regards,

Why Can't Sen. McCain Answer YES to our questions?

Take a look at the six questions that 80-20 has sent to Sen. McCain shown at the end of this newsletter. Why is he having difficulty answering all yeses? Isn't equal opportunity for all Americans a core value of America? Doesn't he think that Asian Ams. deserve equal treatment?

Although his Democratic opponents, Senators Obama has already answered all yeses since 4 months ago, 80-20 was willing to be patient with Sen. McCain knowing that the Republican Party has a different culture. We waited until he no longer had to bow to the pressure of the extreme conservatives in his party.

Sen. McCain travels across the nation reaching out to "forgotten Americans." However, he has turned his back to our reaching out to him. We therefore must ask openly:

Senator McCain:
You seem like a honorable person. However, does your value system include people like us? Do you share our concerns? Why can't you answer yes to the following six questions? We want to know, Senator McCain!
Respectfully,
Asian Ams. Deciding Whom to Support

For your info., here are the 6 questions in 80-20's questionnaire again.

(1) If elected, will you direct the Labor Secretary to hold public hearings regarding the validity of the huge amount of statistical data strongly suggesting discriminatory practices against Asian Americans in workplaces today? Yes or No?

(2) If the data were shown valid, will you issue a directive to the Labor Department asking it to focus on enforcing Executive Order 11246 on behalf of Asian Americans, since in the past similar efforts have already been made on behalf of women and other minorities? Yes or No?

(3) Two years after you have issued the directive described in item 2, will you meet with a group of Asian American national organizations, put together by 80-20 and the Labor Department, to review the progress in extending equal opportunity to Asian Americans? Yes or No?

(4) If elected, will you within your first term of office, seek to increase the nomination of qualified Asian Americans to serve as Article III life-tenured federal judges, whenever such vacancies are available until the current dismal situation is significantly remedied? [To put things in perspective, not meaning to imply quota, presently there are 0.6% Asian Am. Federal judges, while the Asian Am. population is 4.5% and the % of Asian Am legal professionals in laws firms of 100 or larger is at least 5.3%.] Yes or No?

(5) If elected, will you seek to nominate, within your first term of office, qualified Asian Americans to serve as Article III Circuit Judges, whenever there are vacancies in those positions, until the current dismal situation is significantly remedied? [To put things in perspective, none of the 179 Article III Circuit judges is an Asian American.] Yes or No?

(6) If elected, will you consider nominating a qualified Asian America to the Supreme Court, when a vacancy occurs? Two years upon your taking the office, will you meet with a group of Asian American leaders, put together jointly by 80-20 and other Asian American national organizations to review the progress in adding Asian American Federal judges?" Yes or No?

Have you faxed Sen. McCain via (703) 413-0740 yet? Please do it now! Together, we shall overcome.

Respectfully yours,

Faxes From Asian Ams To Sen. McCain

Faxes poured into Sen. McCain's headquarters. Asian Ams of all ethnicities, from afar and near, participated enthusiastically. All included the central message: "Without your positive reply, I/we will definitely vote for the Democratic nominee."

Beyond the central message, however, sentiments for Sen. McCain vary significantly. See below. The McCain campaign will see that it has MUCH TO LOSE by not replying to 80-20's questionnaire with all yeses.

Most who sent a fax were Independents (46%). Others were D (22%) and R(18%). Yet others didn't identify their party affiliations (14%).

I add a note to some quotes. Notes are shown in red. Apologies to all for not quoting your particular fax, owing to space limitation.

How faxing Sen. McCain will help YOU!‏

We all have jobs. We all want good jobs.

If you fax and help induce Sen. McCain to reply to 80-20's questionnaire with all yeses, after this election all of us will be treated equally in jobs. Result? In time, the number of Asian American

o managers in private industries and universities will DOUBLE, adding another 0.5 MILLION persons;

o federal employees in the Senior Executive Service will TRIPLE;

o Federal judges will increase by 8 FOLD.

All of the above will come to us by just being treated equally!

But what if McCain wins, WITHOUT replying all yeses? Our assured equal opportunity in workplace, as promised by Obama and Clinton, will VANISH.

Can we sit idly by & let it happen? No!

What can you do? Send a fax to Sen. McCain using (703) 413-0740. Copy me in, if you want please. Use your own words. Please include the following central message.

Dear Sen. McCain:

Please reply to 80-20's questionnaire with all yeses, as did Senators Obama and Clinton. Equal opportunity and justice for Asian Ams are key issues for me. Without your positive reply, I'll definitely vote for the Democratic nominee who has made iron-clad commitment to our community. However, with an equally strong reply from you, I'll consider your candidacy carefully and ask my friends and relatives to give you another look.

Name & Party Affiliation: (Specify a R or D or Indep.)
Address:
Title: (Optional. If used, specify "for Identification only").

What if we Sen. McCain doesn't reply affirmatively after all?
As required by 80-20's Bylaws, 80-20 shall hold an Endorsement Convention to endorse the presidential candidate who do share our rightful concerns!

One way or another, 80-20 will find a way so that you will be treated equally in workplaces.

As a group we can achieve dreams that are unachievable by any of us as an individual. FAX NOW.

CALL TO ACTION

80-20 will soon endorse a presidential candidate who shares Asian Am. concerns. However, Republican nominee Sen. John McCain has not yet replied to 80-20's questionnaire in spite of great efforts by 80-20 to reach out to him.

80-20 worked with 3 great Republicans asking Sen. McCain to respond positively. They are US Sen. Daniel Evans of Washington (retired), Cong. Mike Castle of Delaware, and C. C. Yin of CA who raised $60K for McCain when he polled only 4th among the GOP presidential candidates. 80-20's questionnaire asks all presidential candidates to give Asian Ams iron-clad commitments to help us achieve equal opportunity in workplaces and in judicial appointments.

Although Sen. McCain is disappointing when compared with Sens. Obama & Clinton, 80-20 sees a continued effort to induce him to reply as a win-win situation for now. His positive reply would guarantee that the next president, whether a D or a R, will enforce Exec. Order 11246 for Asian Am. in workplaces -- a win for us. McCain's positive reply will give him a fair chance to win Asian Am. votes -- a win for him.

Fax a strong message to Sen. McCain using (703) 413-0740 or (703) 752-2515 ! Copy me in via sbw@80-20.us.

Please do it NOW. You know how effective such efforts have been with Senators Clinton & Obama. Please do your share and enjoy the pride of having done it! The more the faxes go in, the more Sen. McCain will know how united we are.

To join 80-20, go http://www.80-20initiative.net.

Best regards,

S. B. Woo Authorized by Pres. Kathleen To to head this project.

Special Reminders:

[1] 80-20 will hold an Endorsement Convention soon. Check out its key features -- fair, democratic and working for YOU!

1) Delegates MUST be composed of 1/3 R, 1/3 D and 1/3 Independents.
2) All delegates are 80-20 members and elected by 80-20 members.
3) The endorsement criteria are specified in Bylaws:
a) the quality of the commitment from a presidential candidate, &
b) the deeds done by the candidate's party for our community in the past 4 years.
4) Candidates and/or their surrogates are invited to address the delegates.
5) All 80-20 members may apply to run for delegates.

To verify the above, see Article 7 of our Bylaws. http://www.80-20initiative.net/about/bylaws.asp. Please fax Sen. McCain now.

[2] America's political world has learned, 80-20's endorsement is extremely effective. 80-20 delivered 3 to 1 for Clinton in Calif. on Super Tuesday, 2/5/08. Doubters can view a recent 2 minute CNN video on 80-20: http://www.80-20initiative.net/success/media_mainstream_080215cnn.asp.

Proposed Bylaws amendments Needs your approval

Important Proposed Bylaws Changes
Democratic nations & organizations are RULED BY LAW. 80-20 is one of such orgs. Soon, 80-20's Board shall submit 4 Bylaws amendments to you for approval. A Bylaws amendment for an organization is equivalent to amending the Constitution of a nation. Hence, our proposed 4 amendments are of the utmost importance to all who care for 80-20.

Prior to a vote, 80-20's members must be given a full month's written advance notice, as required by Article 10 of 80-20's Bylaws. This is so that members will have adequate time to consider the proposed changes and to organize "support for" or "objection to" the amendments. To view the current Bylaws visit: http://www.80-20initiative.net/about/bylaws.asp.

All 4 amendments deal with Article 3, entitled "Organization." After operating under the existing article 3 for several years, your Board feels that the proposed amendments will help make 80-20 a better organization. The 4 amendments are appended at the end of this email.

Only members may vote. As a member, you'll have the following rights & privileges:
i) vote on Bylaws amendments and all other elections,
ii) be a candidate to become a "Delegate" to 80-20's Endorsement Convention where 80-20 will endorse either Sen. McCain or his Democratic counterpart later this year, and
iii) be a candidate to become a Board Member or Officer.

To join, visit http://www.80-20initiative.net/. Thank you.

Respectfully submitted by

Kathleen To
President, 80-20 PAC

Proposed Amendments
1) Amend Article 3.2.3 by replacing its third sentence: "No director shall serve more than two complete consecutive terms." with the following sentences: "Directors can serve up to four (4) consecutive terms, so long as he or she has substantially contributed while serving as a board member, and that the re-elections of board members are contested."

2) Add a new sub-article 3.5:

3.5 Guiding Principle In Taking Actions
Whenever feasible, 80-20 shall try to create a win-win situation in its dealings with other individuals and organizations. In dealing with organizations working for the same goals, 80-20 shall be patient and tolerant. In dealing with others that are damaging or have damaged our effort to achieve equal opportunity and justice, if the entity repeatedly refuses to agree to a win-win solution, 80-20, being a political action committee, shall apply strong and strategic pressure to counter the other side's principal interests. If and when a satisfactory solution is reached, 80-20 shall retrospectively make the other side a winner, or appear to be a winner.

3) Add a new sub-article 3.6:

3.6 Prohibition
Until Dec. 31, 2016 or a membership exceeding 10,000, whichever comes first, 80-20 shall not take any position in US foreign policies and/or foreign matters, except when it may impact upon its goal to achieve equal opportunity and justice for Asian Americans. The decision to invoke the exception must be approved by 3/4 (75%) of the entire Board. However, related decisions and actions subsequent to the approval of the exemption shall be governed by the Robert's Rules of Order only.

4) Add a new sub-article 3.2.6:

3.2.6 Board Communication Protocol and Behavior Guidelines:
Members of the Board shall behave professionally at all times, so as to effectively promote and advance the goals and images of the organization, both within and without. This includes but is not limited to the following cases:

a. The Board shall keep the internal communications of the organization strictly among the Board members, unless it is explicitly approved otherwise by the Board. These include Board and Executive Committee e-mail messaging of important and sensitive organizational topics and issues.

b. Members of the Board shall be cognizant of their roles thoughtfully carry out their responsibilities in a manner that is consistent with advancing the goals, interests, and public image of 80-20.

Is affirmative action good or bad?

For years, the Asian Am. community has debated that question. It hasn't been settled. Reason? We asked the wrong question. The question was too general. Here is my attempt.

Affirmative action was NOT applied uniformly to all Americans. It was applied to blacks, Hispanics, Native Indians and women, but not Asian Ams. Why? The implementation of AF was left to the Labor Dept. All past and current Labor Secretaries have knowingly bypassed Asian Ams!!!

Given the above knowledge, specific questions about AF can be answered easily.

1) Is affirmative action good or bad for blacks, Hispanics, Native Americans and women?

Of course, it's GOOD for all of them. Before 1965, the year when Exec Order 11246 was issued to enforce affirmative action, there were practically NO managers among blacks, Hispanics, Native Ams. and women. Now there are so many. Many are indeed CEOs of Fortune 500 companies. We are glad for them.

2) Is affirmative action good or bad for Asian Ams.?

As it is now, our adults do NOT get the advantage of affirmation action in workplaces while our children gets the disadvantage of affirmation action in admission to first tier universities. Of course, it has been BAD for Asian Ams.

See 80-20 Educational Foundation's full page ad which clearly lays out our grievances. The ad has only 300 words with 2 easy to understand charts. Visit http://www.80-20educationalfoundation.org/projects/equalopp_washingtonpost.asp

3) How will 80-20 make affirmative action good for us also?

80-20 has obtained the signed iron-clad commitment of Senators Clinton and Obama that if elected, each'll apply AF to Asian Americans. See http://www.80-20initiative.net/news/preselect2008.asp .

80-20 is now working hard on Sen. McCain to give the same commitment. A number of very high ranking Republican elected officials are helping, although not a single Republican elected Asian American official has offered to assist us yet. Please contact me via sbw@udel.edu , if you are an elected official and want to help.

Let's live up to our generational responsibility for our offspring.

Join 80-20. Visit http://www.80-20initiative.net .

Respectfully yours,

80-20, Chinese Americans and CNN‏

You haven't heard from 80-20 for a while. However, as usual 80-20 has been working for you, taken actions, and gotten results. We were waiting till emotion has ebbed and the long term interest of the Asian Am. community comes back into focus.

(A) 80-20's Effectiveness Regarding The Cafferty Statement

After Cafferty made his #@$!*& statement, 80-20 President Kathleen To emailed him on April 14 to express 80-20's "deep concern." She asked Cafferty "to clarify" whether his words "were not in any way intended to cast an aspersion on the millions of patriotic Chinese Americans," On the same day, Cafferty replied and went on air to make the same statement and told us when it'll be on air.

Had he not clarified, 80-20 would have mounted a campaign with all its resources. Dire negative statements on one component of Asian Ams. casts aspersion on all Asian Americans.

However, since his statement is about the Chinese government, we figured that it'd best left to the Chinese government to handle, not that we agreed with the statement.

Please let your emotion ebb and then ponder if 80-20 has done the right thing that is amazingly effective. Also note that 80-20 is an Asian Am. organization, not a Chinese American organization.

(B) 80-20's Traditional Policy:
Not to take positions on US foreign policy and foreign matters, although we insist that we have the rights to do so.

Why? For two good reasons.

First, Asian Americans have come from many native lands with different histories. Taking positions on foreign matters could be detrimental to the unity of the Asian American community.

Second, speaking frankly, we are not yet equal citizens of America. We would be the most vulnerable in taking positions on US foreign policy. It is best that we "keep our powder dry" and fight for our equal opportunity in workplaces and equal justice in the US courts first. Channel your anger to your support for 80-20 -- an organization that works methodically and tirelessly to win equal opportunity and justice for you. To join, go http://www.80-20initiative.net.

3 Inspiring AsAm Political Role Models & Other Items

Three Asian American Political Role Models

Gordon Quan, Chris Lu and Ted Lieu are Asian Am. political role models.

Gordon, former Houston City Council Member and a very successful lawyer, endorsed Sen. Clinton. Chris Lu, Legislative Director of Obama's senate office on loan to the Obama campaign, is naturally for Sen. Obama. Yet, they are both our role models.

Gordon and Chris represented their respective candidates in negotiating with S. B. Woo regarding 80-20's questionnaires. They were both extremely loyal to their respective candidates. Yet, they also cared deeply about the grievances of Asian Americans having been denied equal opportunity. So how did they solve their dilemmas? They worked hard in finding a win-win situation with S.B. that will get their respective candidates votes while ensuring huge gains in equal opportunity for Asian Ams., if one of them gets into the White House.

Ted Lieu, Chair of California Asian Am. Caucus, California State Assembly, also endorsed Sen. Obama. We had minor run-ins against each other when I pressed Ted, perhaps too hard, to get Obama to reply with all yeses to 80-20's questionnaire last January. However, after a string of 10 primary victories by Sen. Obama, placing Obama is an apparent advantageous position in the presidential contest, Ted sent me a magnanimous email that really touched me:

Dear SB,
" . . .regardless of who the eventual nominee is, I look forward to helping you make sure our next President honors the commitments made to you and 80-20 . . . --Ted"

Wow! That is how caring and noble they all are.

80-20 has begun to work on Sen. McCain's reply to its questionnaire with all yeses. Will there be such Asian Am. Republican political leaders?

The dawn of a new era in AsAm politics has arrived. 80-20 salutes those 3 role models and others like them.

Audrey Magazine

Audrey Magazine is an upscale magazine for AsAm women celebrating its 5th anniversary. In its April/May issue, it gave a carefully researched & detailed report on the political clout of Asian Ams in the 2008 election. It's written by Jack d'Annibale, whose title is "Run. Win. Lead. -- In an historic election, AAs may be finding their voices.

Audrey's editor-in-chief, Anne H. Kim, said in her Editor's Desk: " 80-20 experienced a similar frustration, causing them to endorse Clinton in Calif. which may have influenced the overwhelming AA support for her there." Worth reading. Go http://www.80-20initiative.net/success/AM0804_Special.pdf .

Don't be complacent, however. Whatever clout we have is not enough. We've not won our equal citizenship yet.

Keep Our Eyes on the Prize

by Amy Wong Mok
Vice President for Membership
February 20, 2008

The 2008 presidential election will prove to be an important chapter in our quest for justice and equality for Asian Americans. The leadership team at 80-20 asked all of the presidential candidates to answer "yes" to six questions that have been formulated to demonstrate their commitment to specific and measurable progress in fair employment and promotion opportunities for all Asian Americans. If a promise is broken, the breach will be measurable for all to see and we shall hold accountable those who break their promise with a longer memory than an elephant and with more tenacity than a donkey.

It has taken a lot of hard work for us to get to this point; we must all keep our eyes on the prize. Our strength is derived from our unity of action. 80-20 has a clear strategy and tested tactics. Our common goal is to secure what is rightfully ours as citizens of our great nation. We could disagree on tactical details but let there be no doubt that we are brothers and sisters fighting for a common dream. Let it be remembered that we are asking to right a wrong that is long overdue. We are not asking for any undue advantage for ourselves at the expense of society. Society will change only when there is both push and pull. The tide of history may push us forward but we must also do the pulling ourselves. That is the basis of our bloc vote.
Numbers mean a lot in politics. The power of Asian Americans delivering a bloc vote has begun to catch the national media's attention; the interview of Dr. S.B. Woo on CNN's Anderson Cooper 360 program has put us firmly on the national political map. The more of us speak up, the more compelling our voice will be to the politicians. The larger number of people who participate in 80-20 movement, the stronger Asian Americans will become. Please take one of the following actions NOW:

1. Be a member of 80-20 Initiative if you have not already joined us.
2. Give your family or friends the membership as a gift.
3. Upgrade the level of your membership.
4. Be a life member of 80-20 Initiative if you are already a member.
5. Make a contribution to 80-20 to help us prepare for the general election.

We look forward to swearing in a President who has promised to appoint more qualified Asian American judges to the federal courts and who will enforce Executive Order 11246 to include Asian Americans in the executive promotions. When that day comes, you willknow you have played your part to turn our hope into reality. Please act NOW.

CNN airs OUR view on AsAm cohesiveness tonight

CNN will air our views on the Asian American political cohesiveness tonight. Please watch.

Thanks to the 2100 doers who signed the petition and took the time to leave 900 comments with CNN expressing our disappointment, CNN has responded positively to our request.

As the petition has requested, CNN will present a more balanced report that will include the rise of political cohesiveness within the Asian American community tonight. It'll be on CNN's Anderson Cooper 360, "Race and Gender." The show time for the three different time zones in the US will be:
10pm ET/ 9pm CT/ 7pm PT.

Gary Tuchman who reported in the earlier 2-minute segment that outraged us was very cordial, when he and I interacted. He interviewed me for about 30 minutes. As expected it'll be reduced to about 1 minute or less when aired.

Since the cutting and pasting power rests with CNN, we'll reserve our final judgment until we've seen the program. I believe that the program will devote about 10 minutes to discussing Asian American's 3 to 1 bloc vote for Sen. Clinton, near the end of the 1-hour program.

Congratulations! It is another demonstration of what a politically cohesive Asian American community can achieve. -- get our equal citizenship and be an integral part of America.

It is also a wonderful demonstration of mutual empowerment. You by joining the petition have empowered 80-20 to represent you. 80-20 by its political know-how induced CNN to do a more balanced report which in turn empowers you -- enabling your voice to be heard across the nation.

Let's keep that up. Join 80-20. By joining 80-20, you empower 80-20. With larger financial resources, 80-20 in turn will be in a better position to empower you! 80-20 gratefully acknowledges

Sanghun & Mylinh Song of NY: $2,000, the largest per person donation this year
Leonard & Jenny Cheng of Hong Kong: $1,000
David Choy of Calif.: $1,000
Yin Chan of NJ: $500
Bin Ke of PA: $500

Call To Action - A Reminder

Call To Action (If you've not signed the petition.)

On February 8, 2008, CNN aired a 2 minute segment that seemed to insinuate that the overwhelming Asian American support for Sen. Clinton were owing to two major causes -- fearful of a black presidential candidate and/or fearful of change.

80-20 is outraged. It is therefore supporting a petition originated by Mr. Samson Fu. We urge you to visit the site and sign a petition to CNN urging it to
(1) take this video off their website, and
(2) do another segment with balanced reporting and include the rise of Asian American political influence.

Please view the 2 minute segment yourself and SIGN THE PETITION http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=wUs_2fa5IkCNYwyhf_2b_2biB9Tw_3d_3d
Within 24 hours, 1250 persons have signed of which 500 provided comments. The resounding success of the petition is proof positive of our community's newly established political cohesiveness -- news for CNN!

I have sent a letter to Anderson Cooper. The names and addresses of the signatories & their comments, in hard copies, have been hand-delivered to CNN. Since CNN has not replied yet, YOU need to keep up the pressure and sign the petition in even large numbers today. Please DO YOUR SHARE.

In many ways, this is a very serious matter. It could cause racial disharmony between the black community and ours. Please sign the petition now! We salute Samson Fu and thank you.

Respectfully yours,
