Gov. Dean has a straight-talking, blunt and suffer-no-fools style.
He'll address APA concerns. He was featured by both Newsweek and Time
magazine this month. Newsweek described him as "the Democrat to watch in 2004."
President Bush's Director of Appointment & Scheduling, Bradley
Blakeman wrote S. B. Woo, 80-20's president, saying: "We appreciate the
invitation and the valuable opportunity it represents. Although we have not made a
decision about the President's participation, your comments will certainly be
considered as the President's schedule develops." John Tsu, Chair of a national
comm. of Asian Americans for Bush/Cheney 2004, is persuading The White House to accept 80-20's invitation.
Having a presidential candidate chartering a plane to keynote a
luncheon hosted by an APA political action committee is unprecedented. If
President Bush comes, it'll be truly historic.
S. B. Woo, President of 80-20 & former Lt. Governor of Delaware
said, "Our community needs political clout to win equal justice and equal
opportunity in workplaces. 80-20 is delivering more of that clout with the passing of
each year. When Gov. Dean addresses APA concerns so early in the 2004
election cycle, other presidential candidates will be induced to study and
address our issues as well. 80-20 aims to deliver justice and equal opportunity to
our children in the shortest time possible."
80-20 is a national, nonpartisan, political action committee
dedicated to winning equal opportunity and justice for all APAs through a SWING bloc vote, ideally directing 80% of our community's votes and money to the
presidential candidate endorsed by the 80-20. Hence, the name "80-20" was created.
